Hello all,
We wanted to take a moment this week to celebrate how diverse our membership is - with members all over the UK and indeed further afield, doing all kinds of jobs, studying, raising kids or living out wonderful retirements. You are all glorious!!
This week’s nominations - yes we are splitting the pot between two brilliant nominations this week! - both come from members working or volunteering in the creative industries. Annie, volunteers on a newspaper for young people and has asked if we can support the charity she volunteers with. Dan runs a company that trains young people in filmmaking and has sent us a call for help from a filmaker in Kenya whose son is very ill.
We are always pleased to support young people through our donations and this week allows us to reach kids in the UK as well as a young man in Kenya.
Thank you as always for your brilliant and diverse nominations - Keep them coming!!
With love from your admins!
From Annie…
I hope you’re well. I wanted to get in touch to ask how I go about nominating for 500 reasons and what information you need. I am living down just outside Bridport now and volunteer for a local charity called The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares. (www.thebankofdreamsandnightmares.org) They are a creative writing charity that goes into schools to do workshops and also runs a few after school clubs for young writers. As with all charities we struggle to get funds particularly for the newspaper I work on (The Vault) which runs every week, free for kids and mainly supported by volunteers. Is this something 500 reasons would be able to support?
Warmest wishes
From Dan…
