Compass Collective

Morning gang! How’s life in lockdown? Too much furlough merlot or too many quarantini’s? Thank you all so much for your nominations, please keep them coming. There’s so many small, front footed groups popping up all over the U.K. to help fill the voids and problems faced by so many during lockdown and it fills our heart with joy to see. This week’s nomination from Gavi is no different, his mate Leah has set up a fantastic initiative called Compass Collective and we are thrilled to be able to help them out.

In other news, my brother and I delivered all the amazing books you bought for vulnerable families yesterday. It’s going to make such a huge difference! So thank you all so much and lots of love.

Here’s Gavi’s nomination in full: I hope you are all well and your loved ones are all doing okA friend of mine, Leah Gayer, set up a charity called Compass Collective which helps support young people seeking asylum. She sent me this yesterday and I was wondering whether the wonderful people at 500 Reasons could offer the charity their support, please?Hi all,As you may know I work with young people seeking asylum through the company I set up, Compass. We are incredibly worried about how isolated the young people are during this period of quarantine. This is an URGENT APPEAL to support the young people to stay connected during the Coronavirus outbreak.Compass Collective is on a mission to raise £1500 to provide phones, data packages and laptops.90% are on a pay as you go and rely on public WiFi at schools, library, cafes.School and colleges are moving curriculums online and without access to laptops and Internet they cannot continue with their learning. There have been 20 new arrivals in last two weeks in the UK alone. Having a community to seek advise from and connect with has never been more important.

Thank you for any support you can offer at 500 Reasons. Stay safe and take care,Gavi
