Hello you wonderful bunch!
This last week has seen celebrations of Chinese New Year - the transition into the year of the Ox - and St Valentine’s Day and so our nomination seems fit as we send love and strength to the wonderful London Chinese Community Centre who provide vital services to the East and South East Asian communities there. A huge thank you to Sam and Freya for nominating this brilliant organisation and we hope that our donation helps them to help others in these challenging times. Hi team It’s been a while since we nominated a cause, so we hope you’ll consider this one from us. We would like a 500reasons donation to the London Chinese Community Centre, which provides services from its base in London’s Chinatown. https://www.ccc.org.uk The centre supports over 800 people a month, many of whom are linguistically or culturally excluded from mainstream services. The centre is open to all and welcomes a high proportion of older and elderly people of Chinese heritage as well as a running a youth programme and health clinics in Mandarin and Cantonese. Alongside the threat to funding, reports of hate crime against LCCC members are shaking the community. Hate crimes against British East and South East Asian people have risen by 300% since the pandemic began. This makes the community centre even more vital as a place for support, companionship and assistance to people in the face of prejudice. The LCCC needs to secure its future and £500 would make an impact on the their fundraising campaign for £70,000. Thanks Sam and Freya
