Cheers Drive!

This week is further proof of the power of community and people coming together to offer their services and making the world a better place, in this instance, one meal at a time! Our kind member Gwen saw an advert for Cheers Drive and thought we could buy 50 homeless people a beautiful breakfast, lunch and dinner! (with gift aid, it’s 62.5 breakfast, lunch and dinners!). Sounds right up our street! Here’s the nomination: Hi 500 Reasons Admin team. There’s an amazing initiative in Bristol run by a homeless charity called Caring In Bristol called “Cheers Drive” and it involves some of the cities restaurants pooling their resources whilst locked down to provide 3 daily, quality, nutritious meals for homeless people and delivering them to them in order for them to safely self isolate during lockdown. They are among the most vulnerable and most likely to suffer due to poor health so this goes such a long way to help them and to stop the spread. There is an army of 150 volunteers and they constantly need financial support in order to buy provisions. Our £500 will feed 50 people a breakfast, lunch and dinner and I thought that would be a wonderful thing to do.
