Imagine doing the job you love, having a real passion for making a difference in your community and then having your livelihood taken from you by some opportunistic thieves. That’s what happened to poor Jay in Manchester. Thankfully our lovely member Holly thought we might be able to put a smile on his face and get him back transforming the landscape of Manchester again. Top man Jay and thanks Holly! Hope this helps you get back on your feet x
Greetings from Manchester on this frosty morning!
I was wondering if I could nominate a local chap, Jay.
Jay (Jason Tabner) is a local gardener, who works incredibly hard in our local area. Sadly, over the weekend he had almost all of his gardening equipment stolen from a local garden whilst he briefly stepped away. Only his lawn mower was left behind.
Jay is genuinely heartbroken. Gardening isn’t just his job, it’s his whole livelihood, his pride, and the way he supports himself day to day. Many of us in our community know him as the friendly face who keeps our gardens looking their best, always willing to go the extra mile, and makes the world a happier, brighter place to be.
Today when I saw him, he was a broken man. He’s worked so hard to build up his tools over the years, and losing them in one night has completely knocked him off his feet. The estimated replacement value is £500 and I immediately hoped we might be able to do something.
If we could donate something, even if not the whole £500, it would mean the world and help him get back to doing what he loves and what our community relies on him for.
Many thanks,
Holly
