Hi friends,

As the academic year gets started again we send our love to everyone settling back into school, college, university or indeed any kind of training or education.

This week’s recipient is a wonderful and talented young man who has been training to be a ballet dancer and has had a scholarship funded place at the prestigious Elmhurst ballet school for several years now. However, his place is under threat as the school are no longer able to offer scholarship places. We really hope this donation helps the family make the payments they need to and that Rohan can keep dancing!

Thanks to Charlotte for this nomination. And a reminder to us all that dancing is brilliant and so so good for our hearts and minds. So have a boogie on us this week and help send some good vibes to Rohan!

Love from your disco dancing admins!!

Hello!

Rohan is 14 and is about to enter year 10 at Elmhurst ballet school in Birmingham but they have just quadrupled the fees because the government have cut the scholarship funding he was on - with no warning.

As a result his family are struggling to keep him in the school as they can’t afford it- he is a gifted ballet dancer but the reality is without fundraising he will have to withdraw from the school and stop his ballet education. I appreciate having been part of this group for some time now that perhaps supporting a child to go to private education might not be top of the priority list in the world we are all currently living in  - but as it is a specific dance education / audition and talent based and about his access to training as a child from a working class background without the means to support himself it felt worthy to put into the mix - as how do the arts diversify if not?! Especially ballet which my god is one of the worst!

The family have to pay the outstanding fees by the end of this month so any help is gratefully received.

Thanks

 Charlotte
