In memory of Alex. Field Of Joy

Hello to you all,

We hope 2025 is treating you all well so far and those in the UK are staying warm and dry. As many of us head back into our regular routines after the winter break, possibly spent with loved ones or enjoying some rest and recuperation after the crazy old 2024.

Our recipients this week head into 2025 very differently having lost a huge part of their family just before Christmas.

The wonderful Alex Hore was a brilliant human and he passed away quite suddenly after a short illness, on the 8th of December leaving his wonderful wife Caitlin and their brilliant kids Nye and Jay to face a future without his light and love.

Caitlin runs an incredible wellbeing project in Norfolk. Bringing people together with each other and nature and allowing them space to connect and refresh. She works so hard to care for the animals there and to provide workshops and experiences which fill people’s lives with Joy. You can read more about Field of Joy here.

Running somewhere like this takes tireless work in fundraising and management and right now we know that Caitlin and the kids need time to focus on themselves, their grief and finding ways to find joy for themselves. So we are sending this week’s money to a fund set up to help keep Field of Joy running while they hold each other close and prepare to face the future. 

We send them, and all who knew and are missing Alex, our love and we hope that this will allow a bit of space to find some joy in amongst the grief.
