Hi everyone, as you may know there are 10 completely autonomous groups using our original model to do wonderful things in their communities and sometimes we share nominations that might need a little extra help. This week’s comes from the brilliant Keri Collins’s group Help Club. This poor family are at their wits end and we’re very happy to lend our support. XHi allApologies for the delayed update, life seems very busy every month at the moment!I hope you’re all doing well and staying positive in the current news cycle. Whenever I write these updates it does give me hope that there are still good people out there trying to make a difference. This month we are supporting a family who are going through the toughest time imaginable and didn’t want to ask for help, but felt they had no choice. This was brought to us by one of our members who coaches the son. Their story is below. As ever, I’m so grateful for everyone in this group and the wider community of other groups like this who help those around them.Keri
——————————————H’s Story (this message was sent to one of our members)I’ve been going back and forth about whether to message you because I feel really embarrassed to even ask this. H starting chemotherapy in 3 weeks time as the tumours are causing obstructions, and he hasn’t been able to work. It’s been such a difficult and overwhelming time for us, emotionally and financially.I’m doing my best to hold everything together, but right now things are really tight and it’s putting a lot of extra stress on top of everything else. I hate to ask, but if there’s any way you could help me out with a little bit of money just to tide us over until we can get back on our feet, I’d be so grateful. I completely understand if you can’t, but I thought I’d reach out because I really don’t know where else to turn at the moment.I’m sat on my bed with tears rolling down my face sending this and it’s been in my notes for 4 days.
