Good Morning to our lovely caring community.

This weeks nomination came in from two of our lovely members, Mia and Harriet, who would love to help their very deserving friend. From what we are told, Kim is a caring, kind person, who sadly has been given some huge blows in recent years, and in discovering her cancer returning and incurable would love to visit her son and grandchild in Canada, and we here at 500 Reasons would love to help make that dream a reality, because family really is the most precious thing. We want Kim to know 500 people see what a wonderful human she is.

Mia's nomination below and Harriet's emails which are words  from Kim's daughter, and a link to her Go fund page.

Have a lovely week all.

I have been made aware of a Go Fund Me page arranged for my friend Kim by her daughter.

I was wondering if I can nominate Kim for a donation from 500 Reasons please?

I first met Kim about 6 years ago when she rented my flat after a separation from her husband. She had to start from scratch and build everything again.

She went from living in a beautiful home near the sea that she designed (she has a wonderful eye as she is an interior designer) to a rented 1 bed flat. She then found the rent too much and was allocated a council flat where she has resided for the past 4 years.

Kim is so lovely and would do anything for anyone. Kim is a strong member of the village community and runs a craft session weekly, helps with Britain in Bloom and many other local community projects. Kim is broke and is desperate to go to Canada to visit her son and grandson, I am not sure how long she will be around. If there is anything in the kitty, doesn’t matter how small I know it will go a long way. Always with a smile on her face and always offering to help others, she truly deserves a break herself.

This has come as a blow as Kim really thought the cancer had gone but it came back and now she is at stage 4.

I know many people are struggling at the moment so I totally understand if there are more in need.

With kind regards,

Mia

Good evening one and all,

This is what Kim’s daughter has written about her…..

My mum dedicated many years to nursing, working in various hospitals in both Plymouth and Gosport. Her entire career has been devoted to helping others feel better—whether through caring for them in illness or supporting their well-being and confidence.

She’s the kind of person who goes out of her way to help everyone she can, even when it causes her stress. She consistently puts others before herself, finding happiness in making other people’s lives brighter.

When Mum’s partner’s career took them overseas, she bravely stepped out of her comfort zone. She took on roles like recording minutes at WI meetings and started an arts and crafts group so the wives stationed abroad could connect and feel less alone. Even before her cancer diagnosis, she founded a craft group in her village to give people a place to gather, and more recently, she established an allotment association to bring plot holders together and improve the community.

Despite facing this cruel illness, my mum continues to push herself every day, always striving to help others and make a difference.
