For Illy

Morning all!

This weeks nomination comes from our great member Miranda who is seeking some support for her friend Illy, who is really up against it health wise.

It is awful to not only be poorly but also be worrying about money, it must be even more stressful to have health care bills added on ( how lucky we are here for the amazing workers that work so hard for the NHS)

We send Illy all our support and hope we can help in letting her focus on her recovery instead of money.

Nomination below in full.

Big love,

Admin Team

I would like to nominate my good friend Iliana Habib (aka Illy). Illy has been through the year from hell, and she really needs support right now. After years of abdominal pain, digestive issues, endless tests, in the summer Illy had an ileostomy which is a major surgery to remove her colon.

She's American, so this was incredibly expensive even with insurance, and complications in recovery meant she was off work without pay for 3 weeks.

When Illy went back to work, still in pain and recovering from the ileostomy, she was immediately told that she was being laid off with one weeks notice.

She's been job-hunting ever since, but the market is terrible right now and her health means she can't do most customer service jobs. Today she told me that she's run through all her savings, and she's almost out of financial options to keep herself in her home.

I hope you will consider Illy as a deserving recipient for the 500 Reasons fund. I can personally attest to her kindness, her generosity, and her incredible tenacity in the face of all this. I haven't even mentioned how she cares for her mum, or her volunteering work, or what an incredible friend she has been to many people in the past few years. I think the £500 would be a huge relief for her, and hopefully help her feel less alone.

You can read more in her own words on her gofundme, though it hasn't been updated since she was laid off
