Circumstances beyond anyone’s control...

So much of what we read from your wonderful nominations involve what happens in the aftermath of some unforeseen horror. It’s scary to think that an event or prognosis beyond any of our control sets in motion a series of events that can disable us from providing for our families in the way we had been or envisaged doing. This is one such case and our heart goes out to single mum Claire as she continues to fight in a coma, her extended family who have been incredible and, of course to her 9 year old daughter Olivia. Lots of love x

Hi guys, I’d just like to start and say what an amazing job you all do and how much appreciated you all are, I for one am in awe of each of you 👏I’m in new territory here, this is the first time I have made a nomination so hopefully you will all find it a worthy cause.  An old school friend of mine who I haven’t seen or been in contact with for many years but had kept in touch through the wonderful nature of social media unfortunately had a car accident on New Year’s Eve. She was taken from Taunton to southmead hospital and immediately placed in an induced coma due to her injuries. Since then they have taken her out of the Induced coma and gradually reduced her meds but has had to have part of the skull removed and the long term picture is still very unclear. The family can’t thank the NHS and emergency services enough, they have gone above and beyond to give her the best opportunity of making a recovery but it’s going to be a long road! It would be amazing if you felt this was a worthy nomination, she’s a single parent to a beautiful little girl, Olivia aged 9, living away from her immediate family in Taunton. Any help would be a massive comfort to the family. Clare lives in rented accommodation, which at the moment the bills and rent are being covered by the family and Olivia’s dad and family but how long can this last?? It’s clare and olivia’s home and it’s where her daughter is most happiest so it would be heartbreaking should they lose this. Clare works as a nursery teacher who are being great at the moment and doing all they can, but the future is still looking unclear! I’d hope the £500 would go a little way to giving the family a little help and comfort in knowing that 500 people are thinking of them while they go through this difficult period in their lives and we’re all hoping Clare makes a successful recovery! Thanks again guys, you’re awesome!
