Happy Wednesday everyone, we hope you are all doing well today and getting ready for the school holidays. I’m so proud to belong to this amazing group of people and the way we can help people in all sorts of different circumstances. This week I’m happy to say that we are able to help a work colleague after our camera operator sent us the message below…..
Here’s the nomination and message:
We are sending in a nomination from 4 of our group in order to help a crew member who has stepped away from her job as a freelance camera assistant in order to help her family deal with the life changing injuries her father received in a motorbike accident in France. He broke all the bones in his body.
Eliza (first time nominee) Ray, Simon and Ian
I hope we can help.
Thanks Eliza this is so so kind of you!
I heard last week that one of our young crew members, who wants to remain anonymous, found out that her father had been involved in a motorbike accident in France. She was told he had very little time to live so flew immediately to France to be with him. He's now in hospital with multiple life changing injuries, but is making remarkable progress. Yesterday an air ambulance brought him back to the UK. Unfortunately his travel insurance are claiming that he is not covered for this repatriation so she and her mother are facing a lot of uncertainty about what lies ahead. On top of the emotional strain, the costs of staying abroad, missing work, the medical and large repatriation expenses are adding up quickly.
Thank you for being so lovely,
