Supporting Afghan Women

Happy New Year to you all!!

We hope you had an amazing one and are ready for all that 2024 has to offer. This week’s recipients are hopeful that this year will bring them a new life where they are safe and able to live full lives.

Brilliant member Ceri spotted this callout on Facebook.

It is from Tess, who is part of the Citizens of the World Choir that we supported in week 15 of 500 Reasons back in the summer of 2017. Tess is currently supporting refugees fleeing Afghanistan and is raising funds for a particular family of women. Tess’s callout is below and there’s more info about the family in the just giving link. We knew as soon as we read it that this family should be our first recipients of 2024.

We send Hawa and her family all our love and wish them all the best!

Take care of yourselves and Big love from your admins!

Xx

“Friends! I have been helping Afghan single mom Hawa and her family for the past 18 months to flee the Taliban and the dreadful crimes committed against women and girls under their regime. If you'd like to know more please read her story and marvel at her courage shown in trying to save her family. I know the world is full of horror right now but Afghan women have been left alone and abandoned as the media focus.“
